Made using the same recipe as we use for our sausage.   Our Cumberland Sausage Meat is great in homemade sausage rolls, Cumberland Burger or for Meatballs in a tasty casserole.

The Cumberland Sausage goes back some 500 years.  With many claiming to have the original recipe, the story seems to go even further back in time.  At a time when you couldn’t order 100g of this and 50g of that.  Butchers got what they were given, and with many spices arriving at West Cumbrian Ports by boat.  In particular black and white,  rumour has it that any spices that had spilled out in transit were given out to the local butchers. So Cumbrian butchers in the ingenuity started to add it too their sausage.  And so the Cumberland Sausage was born!!  Some people say that if they were lucky it may have had a splash of rum in it left over from the rum trade!!.  Fast forward to today and we still make our Cumberland Sausage in the same true spirit.


Pork 47% Beef 23%, Water, Rusk (Wheatflour (calcium carbonate, iron, niacin, thiamin), salt, raising agent (E503(ii)), Seasoning (salt, spices (white pepper, coriander, mace, nutmeg) herb (sage), emulsifier E451, preservative Sodium Sulphite, Dextrose, flavour enhancer, E621, Antioxidant E301),  Cracked Black Pepper, Dried Sage.
